For those wishing for supporters and their family to be in Liberia for the protest and for negative outcomes of the protest:
May you continue to scoop water out of a drum in your bathroom to flush your toilet especially at night.
May you continue to turn the faucet on in your bathroom only to have no water come out of it May your hearing continues to be impacted by the noise of generators May your electricity continues to go off and on like a Christmas tree lights May you get stuck in traffic for three hours when you urgently need to use the bathroom on a 2 mile road with no public restrooms in sight.May you experience “ Big shots” driving in opposing traffic that puts you at risk of a collisionMay you have a crisis and call the police and no one shows up
May you continue to live in a home seemingly secured by iron bars and high fence because your security is at risk due to fear of your impoverished neighbors
May you continue to afford school fees due to that “government job or who knows you job” only to realize that your child’s education is not up to par with the rest of his/ her peers regionally or worldwide May you continue to educate your children in Liberia while the wealthy few are educating their children in the US and other “ developed countries.”
May you continue to experience inadequate health care in Liberia ,while the wealthy few and their family members can afford to seek healthcare outside Liberia May you call your friends and relatives in the US for money and get Click! May you experience what is like to ration your food because you cannot afford to eat May you continue to pull the refrigerator plug in and out daily to reduce LEC bill or paying for generator fuel May you continue to not know what it is like to quench your thirst with a cold drink when the Sun is hot and your heart desires May you continue to stand in long lines at the bank and finally get to the teller to be told to return the next day due to lack of money in the bank
May you continues to carry plenty dirty money in several plastic bags because the exchange rate is increasing and USD is scarce May you continue to take keh keh and pen pen from point A to point b instead of a decent public bus or train. May you continue to experience “ small suffering” according to the President!
May you continue to ride keh keh and pen pen for transportation instead of a decent bus or train
For those of US who support Liberians constitutional right to protest, we pray for a peaceful protest to bring awareness gradually and then subsequent change to many of the daily experiences of Liberians. We pray and protest so that Liberians will know that their experience is not the norm in this 21 century! Know better, do better!
