The Fight to Save Ballots in Texas

VICTORY!!!!! We have to wait for one more court. A Texas Supreme Court Jude has rejected the Republicans’ efforts to have over 120,000 plus ballots cast through Drive-Through voting discarded.

There is another case in court, so we have to wait until Monday at 10:30 for the case to be heard.

(I voted in person on the first day of early voting)

Wear Your Mask!!!

CDC Website

Get first-hand information from the CDC Prevention

Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others. You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick. Everyone should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to pick up other necessities. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected. Do NOT use a facemask meant for a healthcare worker.

Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. The cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing.

Give them Grace

I always say we make decisions based on the best information we gather. Sometimes we gather faulty information and therefore our decisions are not the best.

We all make mistakes. Some mistakes can be wiped up with a clothe, some mistakes just need an apology. While other mistakes are hurtful, harmful and need sincere work and atonement to heal.

Whatever your mistake. Whatever my mistake. Let’s be the first ones to give each other a chance. (If someone wants to atone, give them a chance to do so)

“Better the discomfort that leads to repentance and restoration than temporal comfort and eternal damnation.” ― Francine Rivers, As Sure as the Dawn

Mornings in my head

I woke up with this song on my mind. It has such a powerful message. Before you think wow, she is so spiritual, “what does the fox say” was next lol I guess that is how life works.

As Christian’s we are told to separate ourselves from the world. I tend to believe that, that statement means guard your heart and have a strong moral standing. Always be aware of how Jesus would engage with people and how he would encourage us, his disciples to love others. We have to live in this world and be approachable to people in order for them to be curious enough to ask us about our faith.

Can you imagine being in a Cafe with Jesus and singing “What does the fox say”? Lol I have a feeling Jesus would smile and then redirect the conversation lol

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to the men who take care of their biological children.

Happy Father’s Day to the Men who choose to raise children that are not their own.

Happy Fathers Day to the coaches, teachers and mentors who go beyond their job description to support children in need.

Happy Fathers Day to the fathers who pray that they will one day be able to co-parent their children.

Happy Fathers Day to the men who can only see their children on visitation day.

We as a society promise to support you, stand by you, love you and have your back. Stand tall and stand on the truth. You are all an important part of our world.

I can't breathe

Memorial Day Weekend 2020 was supposed to be a weekend for remembering loved ones. Remembering those in the Military who have died for our freedom, but it turned into the day the last stripe of Band-aide was ripped off the the socio-political construct of the United States of America.

George Floyd will for ever be remembered as the man that died because of a $20 bill. His death released the flood gates of empathy for what African American people and African American men have had to endure for years.
No one  could watch that video and cry out for mercy and justice. The peaceful protests continue as policy makers are being forced to confront systematic racism.

A change is coming to America!!!!

Get involved!!!

I have Fibroids so I like to share some information

Myomectomy (my-o-MEK-tuh-me) is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids — also called leiomyomas (lie-o-my-O-muhs). These common noncancerous growths appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during childbearing years, but they can occur at any age.

The surgeon’s goal during myomectomy is to take out symptom-causing fibroids and reconstruct the uterus. Unlike a hysterectomy, which removes your entire uterus, a myomectomy removes only the fibroids and leaves your uterus.

Women who undergo myomectomy report improvement in fibroid symptoms, including decreased heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pressure. -Taken from the Mayo Clinic

Breonna Taylor’s home of Louisville, Kentucky, unanimously passed a law Thursday night banning the use of no-knock warrants — a controversial practice Louisville Metro police used the night they burst into the 26-year-old African American woman’s home and shot her at least eight times, outlets report.

The Louisville Metro Council passed “Breonna’s Law” with a 26-0 vote, WLKY reported.

That is an example of how the protests that happened after George Floyd’s death, ignited Policy/Law changes in other cities with Police brutality issues. Rest in Peace Breonna Taylor your death was senseless, but those who are left behind will not let your death be in vain.

Covid-19

To We The People, COVID-19 is not affiliated with any party. It is a virus. It does not know if you are Liberal, Conservative, Democrat or Republican etc. It is a virus and so it has to be dealt with from a Public Health standpoint.

Our various leaders have to look to medical experts/virologists to gather information and then make decisions accordingly. Yes, these leaders may belong to one Party or another, but their decisions are based on Public Safety.

It is a virus y’all.

Mental Health Day

Going green for Mental Health Day. Stay in the moment

The more you deliberately seek happiness the more sure you are not to find it. It is therefore far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.

Alvin this is eye opening and the fears are completely valid. Just look at DACA Dreamers came out when one President asked them to and tried to give them a path to become legal. Another President wanted to used that information against them.

It is so important to read history and to evaluate and to analyze.

Thanks Alvin
