The Courage to Heal group is open to women looking for a support group as they go through their journey of recovery from sexual trauma. This group is an open confidential group that can help women find coping skills for emotions related to the trauma they have experienced.
The objectives of this group are to:
- Encourage participants to share their experiences.
- Create a sense of community and break the chains of isolation.
- Help participants to develop a safe space and community they can thrive in.
How do I join?
Fill out the group interest form on our website and we will contact you to begin the screening process prior to you joining the group. You can join the group anytime, we will be using the chapters in the accompanying workbook as a guide.
Do I need a therapist to refer me?
No, you can become a part of the group without a therapist referral. We do encourage you to seek therapy if you are dealing with any form of trauma. If you have been referred by a therapist, please let us know. Part of building a community means knowing who the helpers are.
What is the structure of the group?
The group is conducive to processing and topics that are related to the accompanying workbook like creating a safe space, managing difficult emotions, creating a new community, coping with trauma, and many other coping skills.
What if I don’t like it, or discover that it isn’t the right time for me to be in this group?
We do not ask you to commit to the entire course of this group. However, we do encourage to let us know if you are having a difficult time because of trauma, finances or other life situation so that we can help.
